Scales Mound 39, Lena-Winslow 38: Cameron Koester scored the game-winner with 15 seconds left that gave Scales Mound an upset victory over No. 1 seeded Lena-Winslow.
“We had a set play set up but their defense stopped it and put us in scramble mode,” Hornet coach Erik Kudronowicz said. “They took away Homb and Garrett and Cameron came off the corner.”
Koester had two baskets in the last two minutes — his only points for the tournament.
Homb scored 15 points and Joe Kelly had 13 to lead Scales Mound.
Brian McCabe scored 14 points to lead Lena-Winslow (17-12).
Galena 49, Lena-Winslow 40: Galena outscored Lena-Winslow 31-22 in the second half. Galena’s Matt Hillard scored a game-high 14 points. Brian McCabe had nine points for Lena-Winslow.
