Guilford 60, Freeport 58: Guilford’s Thomas Hawkins hit a 15-foot jumper with 1.8 seconds for the win. Guilford (8-18, 4-10) jumped out to a 23-19 lead after the first quarter and held off a Freeport (14-11, 7-7) comeback in the fourth quarter, when the Pretzels outscored the Vikings 19-10.
Spencer Young led Guilford with 13 points and eight rebounds, and Hawkins followed up with 12 points (eight in the first quarter) and 10 assists. Timmy Hill added 11 points. Freeport’s Eric Douglas led all scorers with 21 points.
