Stockton outlasts Forreston in nonconference play: Stockton pulled out to a 12-2 lead and kept its distance to outlast visiting Forreston 53-36 Thursday.
Stockton’s Haley Magee scored 16 points and Jessica Brunner added nine, and they each grabbed nine rebounds in the nonconference showdown. Forreston was led by Stephanie Conkey and Morgann McCoy, each with 10 points, while Hannah Collman finished with 12 boards.
Lena-Winslow 55, Galena 30: Christin Schroeder’s Le-Win team was too much for Laura Staver’s Galena squad. Schroeder scored 21 points and Staver posted 15, but the Panthers held Galena to eight points in the second half as they pulled away.
Ottawa 47, Sterling 40: Sterling’s Lauren Hernandez led all scorers with 18 points, but Ottawa rallied with an 18-8 fourth-quarter run to secure the win. Molly Bardson led the Pirates with 14.
Hampshire 45, Genoa-Kingston 24: Hampshire’s Alex Dumoulin scored 13 and Christine Schumacher added 11 while G-K struggled to score throughout. The Cogs scored seven or fewer points in all four quarters and tallied just 11 in the second half.
