@Subhead_reg:Milledgeville 37, Orangeville 7
ORANGEVILLE - Several years ago, Milledgeville coach Gary Hartje took down a sign that read: “Through these doors walk champions.”
“Hopefully, he’ll put that sign back up for us,” running back Greg Fredericks said after the Missiles improved to 8-0, 7-0 in the NUIC Upstate with a 37-7 win over Orangeville.
Fredericks ran for 143 yards, including an 86-yard run in the first quarter to help down Orangeville (4-4, 4-3).
“I was just able to break free and then I just followed my two big linemen down field all the way,” he said.
Trace Hanson (10 of 18 passing for 105 yards) and Austin Cramer (95 yards on five catches) led Orangeville. The Broncos were stopped on the 14 on their first drive.
Kirk Engelkens ran eight times for 92 yards and completed 4-of-6 passes for 106 yards for Milledgevillem, which is one game away from its first undefeated regular season in 10 years.
