Boylan 78, Harlem 39: Two months ago, Nick Bauch might not have played the way he did Monday against Harlem. But a lot has changed for the Boylan junior center since the beginning of the season.

“I definitely have done a lot of growing up during the season, as has everyone on our team,” Bauch said. “At the beginning of the year, all our posts would have probably played a little timid.”

Bauch had 14 points and 14 rebounds against a tall Harlem team to lead the Titans to the semifinals. Boylan led the entire way against the Huskies (16-10), jumping out to a 36-25 halftime lead and finishing with a 28-6 fourth-quarter run.

In addition to Bauch battling in the post, the Titans went 23 for 25 at the free-throw line and got 17 points from Chris Miller.

Harlem senior Chaz Winters finished with 16 points, falling 17 points short of tying the school record for career points. Drazen Savic added 10 points and eight rebounds.
