Keith tops R. Christian in semi-finals
Lamish Al-Basha scored a game-high 21 points to lead Keith past Rockford Christian 54-49 in the semifinals of the Rockford Christian Tournament.
Keith will play Indian Creek in today’s 8 p.m. championship game.
Trinesha Cornell added 14 points for Keith.
Rockford Christian, led by Amy Hicks’ 18 points, outscored Keith 26-25 in the second half, but was held to six points in the third quarter. Brianna Hellyer also had 10 points for the Royals.
Winnebago 72, C. Life 27
Winnebago won its first game of the season, led by three players in double scoring figures. Austyn Ford scored a game-high 23 points, Phyllis Woodward followed up with 15 and Emily Myers had 12.
Lydia Box scored a team-high 17 for Christian Life, which now 0-2 to start the season.
Oregon Tournament
Lena-Winslow 33, Amboy 29: Lena-Winslow held Amboy to two fourth quarter points to win its first game of the tournament. Christin Schroeder has team-high eight points, all of which came in the first quarter.
Mendota 37, West Carroll 31: Mendota outscored West Carroll 17-11 in the final quarter. 6-foot sophomore Sarah Lucus had a Thunder-high nine points. Kate Wiersema scored eight.
Prophetstown 51, Polo 30: Prophetstown took a 20-point lead in to halftime by holding Polo, now 0-2 in the tournament, to 11 points in the first half. Julie Haye and Kaitlin Grobe each had a Polo-high 11 points. Grobe also had three 3-pointers.
Ottawa Marquette 38, Milledgeville 21: Marquette combined to score 28 points in the second and fourth quarters as Milledgeville lost its second game of the tournament.
Andrea Herin led Milledgeville with 11 points.
Schaumburg Tournament
Boylan 78, Schaumburg 58: Boylan won by a 20-point margin for the second time in the tournament. Brea Edwards (14 points), Devin Mack (14) and Kelsey Cooling (13) all scored in double figures.
Cooling also hit three 3-pointers.
Warren Tournament
Pearl City 52, East Dubuque 41: Nicole Lawler scored a game-high 25 to give Pearl City its first win of the tournament and its second win of the season.
Lawler had 14 points in the first half and went 9-for-11 from the free throw line. Kelsie Kluck added 12 points. Sam Belken had a team-high 15 points for East Dubuque.
Warren 54, Galena 45: Warren allowed only two Galena points in the first quarter. Megan Rogers had a game-high 16 points for Warren.
Simina Lewis scored eight of her Galena-high 12 points in the fourth quarter and Jessica Middendorf added 10 points.
Harvard Tournament
Round Lake 57, Genoa-Kingston 37: Round Lake separated itself in the third quarter by outscoring the Cogs 23-10.
Molly Meier had a Cogs-high 11 points with one 3-pointer. Amber Philips and Ashley Miller each had 12 points for Round Lake.
