BELVIDERE — Boylan coach Steve Goers is one game away from tying the IHSA’s record for career coaching wins.

Goers’ 82-53 win against Belvidere on Friday put the Titans at 10-3 on the season and gave Goers his 825th career win.

Dick Van Scyoc holds the record with 826. Goers could tie the record with a win tonight at Auburn.

Michael Morman’s 12 points led the Titans, who had 12 players score.

Belvidere’s Tyler Barr scored 16 of his team-high 19 points in the first half, hitting four 3-pointers. Teammate David Delacy contributed 14.

Boylan built a 42-26 halftime lead.

Harlem 72, Guilford 66: The Huskies overcame a 37-28 halftime deficit for the victory. Chaz Winters powered Harlem with 21 points and hit all eight of his free throws.

Leandre Harmon’s 16 points led Guilford, which hit just 11 of 22 free throws. Harlem was 22 of 28 at the line.

Auburn 72, East 51: Eddie Bowling and Darnell Van Vleet scored 16 and 15, respectively, to help the Knights. Auburn remains the only unbeaten team in the conference and hosts to Boylan tonight.

The Knights stretched a 35-21 halftime lead to 43-29 by the start of the fourth period. D’Wan Horton was East’s top offensive weapon with 23 points.

Rock Falls 72, Mendota 58: Rock Falls, which led by three points entering the fourth quarter, was paced by Jake Junis’ 26 points. He hit three 3-pointers and was 9 of 11 at the free throw line.

Tevin Rumley added 21 for Rock Falls.

Dillan Pakenham and Brandon Smith each scored 17 points in the losing effort.

DeKalb 62, Rochelle 51: A 24-point effort by Jordan Threloff paced DeKalb. He hit 14 of 20 free throws. Ben Schwartz led Rochelle with 19.
